What you can do to help
The most important thing to do is to let your representatives know that you support legislation.  The wireless industry has their lobbyists pressuring our law makers to ignore pending bills and allow them to die in committee.

Surveys show that the public is in favor of restrictions.  But our lawmakers are only hearing from the technology industry.  Your letters, phone calls or emails will make a tremendous difference.

The Partnership for Safe Driving has published an educational pamphlet on the risks of driving while on a phone.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download them.  Click here to get a free download of Adobe Acrobat.

And last, but certainly not least, be a good example.  Refuse to make or take calls on your phone while you are driving.  When people question you, explain why.  Don't worry about what other people think.  Research shows that most people know that it isn't safe, but aren't willing to admit that they themselves cannot do it safely. Therein lies the problem.
